After accepting an offer to work at a skilled nursing facility in Washington, Kelvin commuted by plane and taxi for the first several months of his employment. With the help of Insignia’s grant money, he has been able to relocate closer to the facility.
Anastasiia - Ukraine
Anastasiia’s journey to becoming an RN began in Ukraine. When the war broke out, she volunteered in local hospitals, delivering medications to wounded soldiers and civilians. Witnessing this suffering firsthand left her feeling powerless without formal medical training and sparked a deep desire to do more. After losing her home to the conflict, she relocated to the United States and has found a new home in Idaho.
Brian - Kenya
Even with little financial resources as a student and nurse in Wyoming, Brian was providing for his wife and children back home in Kenya. When the opportunity to work for a skilled nursing facility in Idaho came up, Insignia and the facility management were able to help him secure housing with no credit and set up an empty apartment with the essentials.
